In an ideal world, we'd all be in regular contact with one another, thru letters, emails, phone calls and exchanges of pictures. In reality, though, most of us find this hard to do, especially with many individuals. So, in order to reach out to everyone (without the redundancy or the guilt of overlooking someone), I offer this photo journal, where you may share in our lives at your leisure. Think of starting your own blog, so we can see what you are up to as well. Until next time, malika

Hello once again.

Hi there guys. Well, first of all, I thought I'd post more often, but you know how it is. This may only get done once a month or so, but that's still better than nothing. Here's what's gone on since the last post:

April 29, 2005 Originally, this band was supposed to be in an actual parade with the kids, but it got cancelled due to rain. They took it inside instead and turned it into a mini concert.

Here's Sarah and her class after the concert. She's the one looking at Miss Vidia, who is telling the kids to look at the camera. I think that's funny.

Another funny picture. T-Ball started before the soccer season ended, so Sarah did a little bit of overtime for a couple of weeks. She had just gotten through with soccer practice and had to shuffle over to the baseball diamond in this one (note the shin guards). Yaaawwwn.

May 12, 2005
This was Sarah's last soccer game for this season. She got to kick off the ball at the beginning of one of the quarters. The "Comets" were undefeated. Let's just see if Sarah will want to play again for the fall season. Tyree will be old enough then, so she may enjoy it more if they're together.

For now, though, Tyree kept busy during the games by playing in the trees and on the sidelines, practicing his Jedi moves. He also befriended many a soccer player's sibling and picked little flowers for the females, young and old.

May 13, 2005
This is the end of the year picnic for Sarah's preschool. The kids were literally out at the park area from 9 am to 2 pm, but suprisingly, time went by very quickly. Here the kids are eating hot dogs, burgers, beans and other good food.

Sarah and her two friends are rolling around their classmates who are in the tube.

There were all kinds of things for the kids to do. They did crafts, played sports, blew bubbles, hula hooped, etc. It pays to have an older sister in preschool -- you get to join in all the fun stuff, like hitting balls. Tyree had a great time too.

All the kids were presented with certificates and goodies for participating in the preschool program here at Fort Lee. Here is Sarah and her three teachers: Miss Hoy, Miss Vidia and Miss Keisha.

After the all day picnic, Grift and I had to get ready for a formal. I don't even remember who this is with us, it's just that this is the best picture we took together the whole night. It was a pleasant three hour stint. Good food, short speeches, one strong glass of alcohol. My one wish is that a good pair of coordinating tennis shoes would be acceptable footwear to these things. My narrow heeled girl shoes were already killing my Samoan/Hawaiian feet as we walked from our front door to our car.

The highlight of Grift's night was taking this picture with the special guest, Bo Jackson. Grift tried to tell me who this man was, but I'm still clueless. All I know is that I took a very nice picture of SSG Shaw standing next to a really big black guy in a suit.
