In an ideal world, we'd all be in regular contact with one another, thru letters, emails, phone calls and exchanges of pictures. In reality, though, most of us find this hard to do, especially with many individuals. So, in order to reach out to everyone (without the redundancy or the guilt of overlooking someone), I offer this photo journal, where you may share in our lives at your leisure. Think of starting your own blog, so we can see what you are up to as well. Until next time, malika

September 2005

Hey all. I'm almost done catching up with all these posts. Tyree turned 4 on the first. This was also the first time Grift was home for his birthday. September was as follows:

This was taken on Tyree's actual birthday. Just another small cake at home to mark the day. Pictured are Tyree, Sarah and Nikki, our neighbor.

Those were such cool candles. We forgot the candles when the cake was bought, so Jennie, Nikki's mom, let us use these.

Another birthday party, this time it's at Nikki's house. She turned five as well. Here are Nikki, Larry, Sarah, Victoria and Tyree eating pizza.

Now Sarah's up.

After the pinata we set up the pool and the slip and slide so the kids could have more fun outside. This was Tyree and Sarah's first time ever on a slip and slide.

This was the first day of school. Here the kids are outside Harrison Elementary School. Hayden, Kyli and their mom Dana car pooled with us in our van.

This was also Tyree's first day of Preschool. Here he is in his class. He already knew all the teachers, so I didn't have to worry about him adjusting.

Sarah's coming off the bus. This was he very first school bus ride. She was very excited about riding the bus with her friends.

When we left the house on this morning there was a thick fog. We thought it was neat, so I took a picture of the kids goofing around in it.

Daddy bought Tyree a Darth Vador costume for Halloween, so here he is trying it on. That's our bird, Pantom, on his hand.

This is Dana, trying on an afro wig that Grift bought.

When Grift went into work on this day, they were told that they were leaving to help with the Hurricane Katrina cleanup, so we went to Sarah's school so he could say good-bye. Here he is explaining to her where he's going.

This was the first day of Fall Soccer practice. Tyree was finally old enough to officially play on the ten.

I actually got a shot of him trying to be involved in the game, for once. Go Tyree!

There had a nursery rhyme day at school, with a parade and everything. The kids had to go to school dressed up as a nursery rhyme character. Sarah was Little Miss Muffet. I made here spider out of a black sock, extra large pipe cleaners, and beads.

Here's Sarah's class during the parade.

Another parade picture, this time with Mrs. Davis walking with the kids.
