November 2005
Greetings from the East Coast.

The Group Recreational day. All the units competed in various sports, and then there was a overall winner. Here's Grift in one of the volley ball games.

Can you tell that they placed first in the volley ball category?

Here's the football game. They got spanked. Bad. Let's move on.

Grift was the anchor for his unit in the tug-of-war event.

This is before the second match.

It got pretty intense. Everyone was screaming and jumping around. It was almost like being at the chicken fights, without the gambling, of course. Anyway his unit won first place in this event as well.

Formation for the overall trophy award. His unit didn't get it. Personally, I think the football game doomed them in.

Dana and I took our kids to maymont park. It was a beautiful day. The trees were gorgeous and the weather was perfect. We had lunch on the grass and then took a stroll. Pictured are Kyli, Sarah, Hayden and Tyree.

The kids ran up this massive hill and rolled down it.

This is the Japanese garden.

The kids on the pond stone walkway.

Another pretty tree.

Sarah and Kyli.

Sarah, mommy and Tyree.

Isn't this insanely beautiful?

The kids were invited to Chris' 6th birthday party. He was on their soccer team and is also Coach Mary's son. The party was at the bowling alley on base and the kids had a great time.

This is the birthday boy and Coach Mary.

Here's Tyree Bowling.

And here's Sarah, watching her ball go down the lane.

The kids were just playing in the park behind our house in these pictures, so I just took some snapshots. This one's of Tyree, Nikki, and Sarah hanging upside down.

Sarah in the fall leaves.

Tyree with sticks. Always playing with sticks.

This is Victoria, Nikki's little sister. This picture came out just too cute.

Grift and I went to Tyree's preschool for their fall feast. See, I'm stuffing my face. The food was great.

For meal time the kids serve themselves, even pouring their own milk. It's cute, except why do all the mommies do it for them at home? It's all a con I tell you.

Here's Daddy and Tyree.

Mrs. Davis has parent/teacher conferences for all of her students. So before we went in we took pictures of the class bulletin board on the wall. Every one decorated a turkey tail at home and it was put up to make a beautiful Thanksgiving display. You were not allowed to use markers or crayons, the kids had to use their imaginations. Sarah used buttons, beads and foam cut-outs.

The little Indian kids were above the bulletin display. This is Sarah's.

Grift is getting pinned for an award for the mission in Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina.

I took this one when I picked Tyree up from preschool. Here he is with Mrs. Hoy, Miss Keisha, and Miss Vidia.

On Friday, Sarah took Ted E. Bear home from school because she was the student of the week. When the kids become the student of the week, the bear spends the entire weekend with him/her and you write a page about his adventures and everyone's pages make a cool book. Here's Sarah and Ted E. about to read before bed time.

Saturday morning. Tyree, Ted E. Bear and Sarah eating green mini pancakes for breakfast.

Ted E. Bear even went with us to Cici's Pizza. Grift put him in a high chair so he could see over the table. After Lunch he saw "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" with us at the mall.

He even went to church on Sunday with Sarah. Here's Ted E. Bear with Sarah and Pastor Downing.
